We use Registered Dietitians for all of our nutrition information, meal plans, and personal coaching.

Why?  Because anyone can legally call themselves a “nutritionist” -- and these days you can find one just about anywhere -- but no one is as uniquely qualified to help you translate nutrition science into practical food recommendations as a Registered Dietitian (RD) – especially when you have a specific health concern.  RDs have extensive education, supervised practice, and continuing education requirements specific to the science of human nutrition.  In order to become an RD, one must complete the following:

  • Complete a Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition, dietetics, or food science and management from an accredited college or university.
  • Complete a supervised practice program at a healthcare facility, community agency, or a foodservice corporation, or combined with undergraduate or graduate studies. Typically, a practice program will run six to twelve months in length --a minimum of 900 supervised hours.
  • Pass a national examination to become registered as a dietitian.
  • Once Registered, a dietitian must complete professional continuing education credits regularly to maintain their registration status.
In most states, a Registered Dietitian is the only nutrition professional approved to deliver disease based nutrition therapy.  Some RDs hold additional certifications in specialized areas of practice, such as pediatric or renal nutrition, nutrition support, and diabetes education. These certifications are awarded through CDR, the credentialing agency for ADA, and/or other medical and nutrition organizations and are recognized within the profession, but are not required.  Most require additional training, experience, national exam, and continuing credit hours to maintain.

" Registered Dietitians are allied health professionals that will provide you with up to date, scientifically proven, and practical guidance.  When you are looking for credible nutrition information and guidance - a Registered Dietitian is the true nutrition expert! "   ADA
